Help fight Post Office closures

9.53.00pm GMT Mon 5th Nov 2007

Post Offices

Local Lib Dem Councillors are asking residents to support their campaign to stop the closure of the Maidstone Post Offices.

The two earmarked for closure in this area are in Hardy Street and Loose Road. Many people are alarmed at the prospect of losing such valued local facilities and the hardship that many residents will face. People with mobility problems are likely to be amongst those hardest hit by the closure of the Loose Road post office as the nearest alternative sub post offices are in Mangravet, Tovil, Loose Village or at the main post office in Bank Street in Maidstone.

Residents have until 12 November to voice their objections to these plans. You can do this now by emailing consultation@postoffice.co.uk.
